Mechanical Engineering is an old field. Its name derives from the Latin machina, which means invention or trick. Mechanical Engineering is one of the most demanding branch in Engineering & encompasses the design, production & use of machines & tools. Mechanical engineers are responsible for all mechanical products & systems. They provide technical advice & consultation to others. They also manage group of people who may do the actual construction & installation of products & systems. Emerging technologies in Bio-technology, Material Science & Nanotechnology are bound to create new job opportunities for mechanical engineers.
Mechanical machina, at SVCE, which was established in 2011, with intake of 60, is known for real education and excellent results. The department has excellent lab facilities since from the date of inception, and it has highly qualified, experienced and committed faculty members. The department gives importance not only to academic education but also ethical values and personality development of students. Department has focus on Industrial Visits, Expert Lectures, Soft Skill Training which helps to produce a ‘complete student’ at the end.
The students of MECHANICAL DEPARTMENT regularly organize various technical & extracurricular events and bring out magazine annually under MECHANCIAL ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION. The department strives hard to impart quality education and to keep the students on the competitive edge of the present-day technology.
MEA – A Technical Association for Mechanical Engineers is established in the year 2012. The objective of MEA is to improve the technical and core skills to the students and to make top quality professional engineers needed by industries and other sectors competing in the world. Various workshops, seminars and symposiums have been organized under the MEA.
